There’s always an amazing feeling when you get a brand new phone. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is. Whenever you receive a brand new smartphone, it always feels like Christmas. But you have to remember, if you’re like most people, you’re going to have to hang onto that smartphone for the duration of the 2 year contract you sign up with. So there are 3 accessories that you must have to keep your new smartphone safe. These 3 accessories are:
A Screen Protector: You need a screen protector to keep your new smartphone from receiving any scratches on its beautiful screen. It’s brand new, and if a scratch, light or heavy, lands on it, your entire day (and month) will be ruined. So it’s imperative that you get a screen protector as soon as possible. My personal favorite screen protector are the anti-fingerprint matte screen protectors. Not only do they protect your smartphone from scratches, it also protects it from fingerprints (about 90% of them). It’s perfect for an all touch screen smartphone because it makes texting a breeze. It has a smooth matte finish that is comfortable to your fingertips. It takes away the annoyance of texting with a normal screen protector because normal screen protectors leave fingerprint residue which results in stickiness. A matte screen protector will prevent all of that and make your smartphone much more enjoyable.
An outer case: An outer case is a must have (though kind of an annoyance) for your new smartphone, especially one that’s extremely fragile. An outer case will make sure that if your phone falls and hits the floor (and it does happen… frequently), your phone and it’s beautiful screen won’t be shattered into bits. Now your case may be, but it’s better that your case gets destroyed rather than your $200+ smartphone. If not, it is also beneficial to the preservation of your smartphone’s outer body. My personal favorite brands of cases are the Otterbox series. They’re extremely durable (and pricey), and they make sure that your smartphone stays safe. They also give your smartphone a sort of military, CIA feel with its extra detailed design.
An External Battery: An external battery is a must for smartphones of this generation. If you have owned a smartphone before, you’ll know that their battery life sucks. A standard Android phone will only last you up to 6 hours a day on a single charge. This results in having to change it 2-3 times a day which can be a hassle. What if you’re out of the house and can’t get that extra charge in? Well you better hope that you won’t need your phone for let’s say… an emergency? An external battery solves that problem. Sure it adds extra bulk to your smartphone, but it also adds much need battery life… sometimes up to a full days worth. The pricing can range from really cheap to really expensive depending on your smartphone. An alternative is to carry a charger around with you… but that’d be odd and you would still have to wait half an hour to an hour for your phone to fully charge.
Those three accessories will make your smartphone much more enjoyable, and safe. We treat our smartphones like our children. We want it to be safe and for them to live a very long time.
